The only changes to your files are these:
while in Hangar, aircraft.cfg is renamed aircraft.hgr
if Hangar drive is remote, Activate copies to (FS)\aircraft dir
The shareware FS2004/2 Aircraft.cfg Tool is written in Dolphin Smalltalk, so you can expect
it to keep evolving.
It is now a functioning Aircraft Hangar Manager with a virtual hangar system organized
by manufacturer. A coming xml flatfile database will add more management criteria. Each 'hangar' is virtual: at the moment 'hangars' can be viewed by manufacturer.
A hangared aircraft can remain in the home aircraft directory or it can be kept out on
a remote drive, CD or DVD.
When an aircraft in the FS \aircraft directory is Activated, only the aircraft
config file is renamed from aircraft.hgr to aircraft.cfgThe tool exports XML and maintains each aircraft internally as XML
This will facilitate rapid evolution of the tool for handling Install, Upgrade, Replace,
Backup and Restore as well as selecting panels, sound and liveries.Expect zip and install function in version 6.x coming soon. But the price will have to rise some to cover the cost of development tool upgrades.
But while it is at 16.50 USD through PayPal, - and with free updates through to FS2006 -
it is an inexpensive way to manage and upgrade aircraft.
If you decide to stop using the tool, you can ask it to back-out, or use
a simple DOS command as explained in the revolving Help Tips.Start by placing all aircraft in a virtual hangar. As you are more comfortable, store aircraft on and other drive, CD or DVD, edit as needed, and Activate.
