Robert Coleman

For many years Robert taught mathematics and physics at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan,
Canada while pursuing research in the foundations of physics.
He authored several articles with Herbert Korte: most of these are gathered in a single list Robert was a graduate in physics of the University of Toronto where he had studied under John Moffat. He is remembered by some as a fellow of Massey College with a fine mathematical mind. He spoke at both the Trieste Einstein Centenary and at the Weyl Centenary in Kiel. Robert edited a valuable collection of the work of Hermann Weyl He was an x-windows wizard on Sun computers if ever there was. His extemporary expositions on physics were among the finest short discourses that I have ever heard, and I have been priviledged to hear a few. His early death leaves a gap that will not soon be filled.
